Among pink flamingos and natural landscapes
The beautiful town of Cervia, one of the most popular seaside destinations on the Romagna Riviera, is far more than just a seaside location.
A vibrant city 365 days a year thanks to its stunning natural beauty, first and foremost a nature reserve that is home to hundreds of pink flamingos, the Cervia Salt Pans Nature Reserve, on the south side of the Po Delta Regional Park.
A unique and evocative environment, attracting visitors, photographers, hikers, cyclists and birdwatchers every year.
The salt pan is a natural oasis extending over 827 hectares and hosts over 100 different species of birds, right where over 200,000 quintals of sweet salt are processed.
How wonderful it is to wander through this marvel, admiring the sunset colors reflected in the surrounding landscape. "There is a serene hour in the day that could be defined as the absence of noise," says Victor Hugo. It is the peaceful hour of twilight.

A blend of art and history
Ravenna has been a very important cultural center for centuries, with its millenary history and vocation for music and art.
Its Paleochristian monuments are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Capital of the Roman Empire, Ravenna preserves real treasures of mosaic art. Visit the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia, featuring star-shaped vaults, or the Basilica of San Vitale, containing portraits of the emperors Justinian and Theodora. More noteworthy monuments include the Basilica of Sant'Apollinare Nuovo, the Mausoleum of Theodoric, the Arian Baptistery and the Neonian Baptistery.
Situated outside the city, in Classe, you can also visit the Basilica of Sant'Apollinare in Classe and the archaeological harbor, another example of the Roman past.

Mosaic art is still very present in the modern city: the Academy of Fine Arts remains active in the area, and artistic events related to this discipline take place continuously throughout the year.
Ravenna was also a safe place for the poet Dante Alighieri during his exile. Here, he rests in his tomb, around which a true Dantesque quarter has developed, hosting a museum and many literary events.
The city also hosts many cultural events such as the Ravenna Festival, with concerts, dance and theater performances, and the Notte d'Oro, to discover ancient and modern mosaics.
